***PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE COMMITTING TO TRYOUTS.

**All tryouts are held at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, check your regsitration form for dates/times.

HOW MANY TEAMS DO YOU HAVE PER GRADE?

We are a competitive program and not all of the players at tryouts will be selected for a team. We encourage players who love the game or want to improve to register and work hard at tryouts. Teams: Boys- grades 5-12 and Girls grades 8-12th.

HOW ARE TEAMS SELECTED?

Western Slope Fusion has a 1-day tryout for approximately 1.5-2 hours. Players are evaluated by the coaching staff, then ranked individually overall as well as by position. Following a thorough and objective evaluation process, players selected for the team are offered roster spots first.

HOW OFTEN DOES EACH TEAM PRACTICE?

Beginning in April players practice two days per week; depending on coach and gym time availability.

WHAT TIME ARE PRACTICES HELD AT?

Practices are held in the afternoon and evenings at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, Glenwood Springs Middle School and the Carbondale Middle School. Practice schedules will be posted after tryouts. *Practice times are based on age of team,  coach availability, and gym availability.

**Varsity and JV Girls practice at the Glenwood Springs Middle School.

**Grades 5 and 6 practice at the Carbondale Middle School.

WHO ARE COACHES?

Our coaches are NCAA Gold Licensed and have backgrounds with the game of basketball and work together as a team. Many of our coaches are currently playing basketball, coaching at the middle and high school level, or have done so in the past. The Club Administrator serves as the point person to mentor and provide support for the coaching staff. Coaches are provided a planning book for practices.

HOW WILL PLAYERS BE NOTIFIED OF TEAM SELECTION?

Players / families will be notified if their player has been selected to a Western Slope Fusion team within 24 hours after tryouts are completed for each team.  Once notified by email, players/families will have twenty-four hours to decide if they would like to commit to the team that they have been selected for.  In order to secure a roster spot, each player must complete the registration form and pay the security deposit.

HOW MANY PLAYERS ARE SELECTED FOR EACH TEAM?

Our goal is to have 10-11 players on each team. This allows the organization to be more cost effective. Additionally, 10-11 player teams ensures that we will have enough players to field a team in tournaments when players can’t play due to injuries, vacations, school functions, family functions, etc.

WHAT IS THE LEAGUE/TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE FOR EACH TEAM?

Schedules for the 2026 spring and summer for all the Western Slope Fusion teams will be finalized once team selections have been made.

All teams will play in 5-6 tournaments between April-June. Travel accommodations to and from tournaments are arranged solely by parents and players. For travel we may leave one day ahead or come back one day after the tournament concludes.  All of our travel details with flights and hotels will be given once our team selections have been made.

**Schedule is subject to change. If you are unable to commit to the practice schedule and attend tournaments (outside of family vacation/events and church). this may not be the club team for your family.
